RULES FOR TANNING IN SOLARIUM
– If you have health problems or are taking medications, consult your doctor about the possibility of tanning. Your health condition or the effect of certain medications may be multiplied by the effect of UV radiation.
– Determine your skin phototype. Based on the results of this test, the staff will recommend your individual tanning program.
– Observe the maximum recommended tanning times and intervals between tanning sessions according to the recommended tanning program, taking into account the condition and type of your skin.
– Wait at least 48 hours between the first and second tanning session.
– Do not tan in the solarium and in the sun on the same day (UV radiation doses are cumulative).
– Remove jewelry before tanning.
– It is necessary to thoroughly remove makeup before tanning. Do not use makeup and perfumes for several hours before tanning.
– Do not use any sunscreens with SPF. Cosmetics for sun tanning are not intended for tanning in solarium (and vice versa). Only special solarium cosmetics are recommended, which are designed to provide the skin with necessary moisture and vitamins, thus preventing excessive skin aging..
– Protect sensitive parts of the skin from radiation – scars, moles, tattoos, genitals.
– During tanning, it is necessary to protect your eyes using special protective goggles or eye protective films (contact lenses or sunglasses with UV filter are not a substitute for special protective goggles). If you do not follow this rule, you are seriously damaging your eyesight!!! If you look directly into the lit solarium for about 6 seconds, you are already exceeding the critical radiation limit that your eye can withstand. If you have your eyelids closed in a lit solarium, you exceed the dangerous dose of UV radiation for your eye after about 1 minute.
– Lie still when tanning in the solarium.
– Do not shower for several hours after tanning to avoid interrupting the pigmentation process.
– If redness appears after tanning, further tanning should be stopped for at least a week and then started again from the beginning of the program.
– After an intensive tanning course, a break of up to 4 weeks is recommended.
An intensive tanning course can be conducted, for example, by going to the solarium every other day for a maximum of 10 times and gradually extending the tanning time from the initial 5 minutes up to the recommended maximum for a specific skin phototype. To maintain a tanned appearance, 1 visit to the solarium every 1 to 2 weeks is sufficient.
– The number of tanning sessions per year should not exceed 50 to 100.
Some dermatologists even state only 20 visits to the solarium annually! Everything is individual and depends a lot on your skin phototype, the number of moles, etc.
– Persons who experienced unexpected effects such as significant itching or redness of the skin, etc. within 48 hours after the first tanning session should avoid further use of the solarium.
If swelling, pain or changes in skin pigmentation appear after tanning
(changes in existing pigment spots), seek medical attention immediately.
The solarium must not be used by:
• persons under 18 years of age,
• persons prone to freckles,
• persons with natural red hair color,
• persons with spots and very light skin color,
• persons with more than 16 moles on the body with a diameter over 2mm,
• persons with atypical moles (asymmetrical, irregularly bordered, larger than 5mm, with fluctuating pigmentation),
• persons suffering from sunstroke,
• persons unable to tan without burning their skin,
• persons who have had skin cancer or are predisposed to skin cancer,
• persons who are in close kinship to a person with a history of melanoma,
• persons sensitive to light or taking medications that cause light sensitivity
